Christening of the Sailing Vessel Diminuendo!

Family, friends, and guests. We gather today to re-christen this fine boat.

In the name of all who have sailed aboard her in the past and all who may do so in the future, we invoke the blessing of the ancient gods of the wind and sea.Diminuendo Christening 036

To the mighty Neptune, king of all that moves in or on the waves, and Aeolus, guardian of the winds and all that blows before them, we offer our thanks for this vessel’s past safe passages.

We now ask that you strike Caduceus, the name under which she formerly sailed from your records. Further, we ask that she be afforded the same protection she enjoyed in the past under her new name.

To you Aeolus, we offer this libation and ask that she always be blessed with fair winds.

And to you, Neptune, we offer this libation and ask for your blessing and protection. May she always enjoy smooth seas.

I christen this vessel Diminuendo and ask that enjoy many a safe voyageDiminuendo Christening 042
