Vacationing in the Pacific Northwest? Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, BC are great destinations in their own right. You’ll find world class restaurants, hotels, entertainment, museums, and shopping. You’ll be enthralled by the mountains looming in the near distance and the waters of the Salish Sea lapping at the city’s feet singing their siren song. After spending a few days enjoying all the city has to offer, why not slip away for a couple of weekdays away and enjoy the San Juan Islands you’ve heard so much about?

The Washington State Ferry terminal in Anacortes, a couple of hours from Seattle, is often considered the gateway to the San Juans. From the ferry itself, you’ll be certain to enjoy some great scenery. But be forewarned; the ferry schedules can be very confusing even for regular users and the lines can be very long, especially in the peak summer season. The ferry can take you to only four of the many islands in the archipelago. Also, many of the available accommodations have a two night minimum.

Instead, why not see and visit the San Juans from the deck your own private charter yacht? You’ll be able to visit islands that cannot be reached by ferry.
